Vietnam Patrol
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:46:36 AM »
Is anyone going to Vietnam Patrol May 15 - 16? If so what unit (I, II, III Corps) are you looking to be assigned to? At Fulda Gap we fought for the Warsaw Pact and while that was fun this time we want to fight along side some of our BEL friends as the good guys.

They have the U.S. forces divided up as follows:

US Army/Marines: On the defensive manning bases. Players will have a choice of base selection upon pre-registration.

Base units are:

I Corps (Marines): Rex/Holiday/Ambush Alley

II Corps (US Army): Duckett/Alpha/Hamburger Hill

III Corps (US Army): Apache/Sim?

I stand on the shoulders of those that came before me that answered the call to defend freedom. Their warrior spirit flows through my veins. I am nothing without the honor, valor, duty, and sacrifice they made on behalf of their country. When I step on the field I fight to honor them....

I plan on going to this, but I'll most likely want to play as NVA, so I'm attacking.

Here's Paintball Carolinas write-up:-

Thanks for the link!

We will be there covering it and from what I have heard, it is going to be a really good event.  Lots of good teams are coming and the scenario looks to be written a lot better than Generation Kill.

I've attended 2 Vietnam Patrols to-date, ie 2008 and 2009 and both were no comparison to the recent Generation Kill.

There's no swapping alliances etc, no confusion, just 2 huge teams against each other, with side-line missions etc.

It rocks!

It will be a good game, and the confusion factor should be low...

Based on what I saw at the Private game two weeks ago, they will be lucky to have old Sim completely cleared out for VP...

I know their goal is to have the structure built for Fulda Gap 2010... but I also know there was some holdups, so my fingers are crossed.

Well England, I registered my son and I tonight for II Corps US Army. Though we would have liked to played along side you the thought of being communist two scenarios in a row was too frightening. See you somewhere around Duckett/Alpha/ or Hamburger Hill.

SDI will be there for the weekend, although I am not getting in until Saturday night... Why my friend is getting married during VP I don't know...

I would like to meet those of you who are there in person...

I'm hard to miss on the field, due to my freak gun, loud voice, and carbonfiber beaded mask.
